Saya terbaca artikel di bawah di arabnews.com. Nampaknya apa yang diperkatakan oleh sebilangan besar mereka yang pernah ke SA atau bakerja di sana ada kebenarannya.


When foreign workers first come to Saudi Arabia, they consider us the descendants of the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him), that we are the best of God’s creatures and we are immune from any vice.


This optimistic outlook soon changes when there comes a conflict with the worker’s sponsor, or with the sponsor’s devilish sons, or with the neighbors throwing tomatoes and rotten eggs at them. These workers see the “descendants of the companions” — old and young alike — beating cats with sticks and shoes.


This makes the poor foreign laborers change their bright views of us. Before arriving in our country, they harbor a notion that they are coming to a nation that won’t inflict upon them injustices; a nation that is pure and unpretentious.

With the advent of modern technology, like the Internet or Bluetooth, the descendants of the companions have been exposed. In the past, people never talked about the crimes of rape and sexual harassment, but today we read and hear about these crimes every day. This shows that we are no different from any other society. Like other societies in the world, we have our ups and downs.


A study recently conducted by professor Abdullah Al-Rasheed about “virtue in Saudi society” concluded that about 70 percent of the messages circulated among youths contain pornographic content. The study also found that the memory cards of the mobile phones confiscated from Saudi teens were replete with shameful and violent scenes. Furthermore, a report by the Commission to Promote Virtue and Prevent Vice purports Saudis constituted about 56.8 percent of morality infractions discovered by the moral authorities. This is a far cry from a virtuous society pretending to be pure and innocent!


The title “descendants of the companions” echoes back to a time when the title was bestowed on the Saudis by Asians before they came to experience or witness the dark underbelly of the society. With this revelation the foreign worker has bestowed a new nickname on the Saudi: “That guy with a lot of money.”I think we need to be more humble and reform our reputation. The figures mentioned by professor Al-Rasheed in his study were not his own invention. He took them from government departments.

Is Indonesia, Malaysia Next On The List?

A conspiratorial view of the world is frequently inaccurate, exposing more the paranoia of the view rather than the reality of the world. The sequential destruction of Muslim nations -- Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, (and Iran is on the list) --- may or may not be a conspiracy hatched in Washington D.C., but it is becoming an international reality. It is no secret that the United States and Europe, with varying degree of mutual cooperation and some make-believe internal discord, superintend the sequential destruction of Muslim nations. This War of Sequential Destruction (WSD), despite Nobel-Laureate Barack Obama's denials, refuses to go away.

The WSD is multi-frontal. It crosshairs Al-Qaeda, Taliban, Hezbollah, Hamas, Al-Bashir, Ahmadinejad, Sunni, Shia, Wahabi, Gaza, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Iran, Afghanistan, and now Pakistan. Many Western policymakers rarely see Muslim nations, including allies, with any inherent respect. Vice President Dick Cheney described the Muslim world as "brute and nasty." Obama advisers, though more guarded in their word choices, see Muslim nations no differently. The idea that Islam is inherently violent, openly expressed during the Bush administration, continues to animate foreign policy. The White House holds a new President but Congressional leadership and Washington policymakers are more or less the same. Anti-Islamic policies of warfare and destabilization are intact.

Therefore, the WSD will continue and gather momentum. The picture is not pretty. Palestinians are penned in misery and their territorial cage is constantly shrinking to meet the "natural growth" of vociferous settlers. Oil-rich Iraq is under American occupation and its communities have been torn apart with irreversible harm. Afghanistan, one of the poorest nations in the world, is placed under the boots of Western armies. Thousands of Afghans have been murdered, their houses bombed, their villages devastated. The International Criminal Court headquartered in Holland has indicted the first sitting head of the state, the Muslim President of Sudan. The United States and Europe, themselves armed with thousands of nuclear heads, are strategizing to punish Iran for asserting a treaty-based right to produce nuclear energy, leaving open the option of attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.

After razing Iraq and Afghanistan, the WSD has now turned to ravage an ally, Muslim Pakistan. Pakistan is a nation that the British, in 1947, carved out of India and that India, in 1971, broke into two, liberating Bangladesh from the murderous clutch of the Pakistani military. Over the past sixty-two years, Pakistan's military and civilian rulers, one after the other, and without exception, have turned to America for military training, weapons, money, and strategic instructions. Eager to send their sons and daughters to Western cities for education and employment, Pakistani politicians, generals, and bureaucrats all look for ways, and create the ways, to oblige Western capitals, particularly Washington D.C. Partly for personal interests and partly out of faulty readings of geopolitical situations, Pakistani rulers, like most rulers in Muslim nations, frequently compromise national sovereignty and public welfare.

The Pakistani orientation for self-destruction serves American interests. Facing a failing campaign in Afghanistan, Obama advisers decided to expand the war into Waziristan and other parts of Pakistan. The United States desperately solicited the Pakistani military to join the Afghan war. Pakistani rulers, this time a democratically elected government, listened to the American call. They first permitted the CIA to fly drones armed with missiles, which killed a few militants but hundreds of civilians in the tribal areas. The United States later urged Pakistan to invade Swat to kill militants. Pakistan did. Millions of civilians were made homeless.

The reaction to drone attacks and the ground offensive in Swat was fierce. Pashtun and Punjabi militants began to attack soft and hard targets. They attacked police stations, military trucks, and even the military's fortified headquarters in Rawalpindi. Citing these counter-offensives as a threat to Pakistan's national security, the United States urged the Pakistani military to launch a ground offensive in Waziristan. The rulers listened to the call and sent 30,000 troops to Waziristan. Muslims fighting Muslims have been efficacious in weakening the Iraqi militancy. The same formula, Obama advisers are betting, will crush the Pashtun resistance in Afghanistan.

Certainly, the United States can kill hundreds of thousands of Pashtuns on both sides of the AF-PAK border, even if no more troops are dispatched to the region. Killing militarily weak populations requires no sophisticated military strategy. The convenient but thoroughly demonized label of "Taliban" provides the rhetorical shield to justify the ghastly massacres of civilians. Since Pakistani military has joined the war, killings on both sides of the border will become even more robust. These killings will carry an air of logic, even legitimacy, since no military presumably kills is own people unless it sees a threat to national security.

Under coercion, Pakistan has started a civil war that will consume its economy, national security, and tear apart its social fabric. The civil war will spill into many parts of Pakistan. It already has arrived in some parts of Punjab. Militants are unlikely to confine this war to sparsely-populated Waziristan. They are taking the war to the most populated cities, including Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and Lahore. Karachi, which appears to be quiet, is sitting on a tinderbox. Karachi can erupt any minute as its ethnic rivalries are primed for a civil war. It is sheer foolery and a grave analytical mistake to presume that the Pakistani military offensive will provoke no one but only a few misguided militants in the North.

It is not yet too late for Pakistan to return from the precipice of national suicide. Pakistan must take a U-turn and preempt the civil war. Pakistan must say an emphatic no to President Obama who must also carefully weigh the stakes of expanding the WSD to Pakistan. If the NATO forces cannot subdue the militancy in Afghanistan, adding one more military into the battlefield will not solve the problem of occupation and resistance. Furthermore, an internally torn Pakistan does not weaken but empowers militants. Obama advisers must ponder over one thing more: The people of Pakistan, like the people of Iran under the Shah, might rise to oppose the US hegemony over their internal affairs.

You Have a Better Name To Suggest?

My dear friend Vincent has written and even edited his book on his and his family's experience whilst with Malayan Railway/KTM/KTMB. I have written about his effort earlier in this blog when I had the honor to proof read his copy.

There is a positive development and high possibility that his book is going to be published. The last time we met, he pondered the idea that the suggested title might not be appropriate enough to interest non-railwaymen and seek ideas from friends for a catchy title.

Here's what Vincent has to say about his book:

I have written a book of life in the Railways. It comes to about 350 odd pages, spread out over 23 chapters. The book's been edited and is ready for publication but so far, no publisher has taken it up. The old adage says that good man is never recognised in his own bvackyard........ I must be that fellow!! So, have decided to self finance it. About $5k for 500 copies. I think I can raise it. But before seeing the printer, I need to sort out the title to the book. I have chosen a very railway sounding title for it: SIGNAL RIGHT, LINE CLEAR. But the opinion is divided. Some say it ought to be something that everyone can relate to. I honestly don't know but would be nice to get some alternate opinions on it. For the purpose of making some comments, I have attached the prologue [basically it sums up the objective and theme to the book], a chapter by chapter summary of the 23 chapters and the cover to the proposed book. Would appreciate it if you all could spare some time and see what you can come up with by way of a title. Comments on the chapter titles too, are welcomed.

Penglibatan Israel & CIA Dalam Pengeboman Di Indonesia

Pernahkah kita di dedahkan kepada kemungkinan angkara beberapa insiden pengeboman di Indonesia adalah dari tangan zionist Israel dan CIA Amerika? Kita tidak pernah lihat video temuramah di bawah in di kaca tv kita samada dari RTM atau TV3. Malahan kita juga tidak melihatnya dari CNN, BBC mahupun Al-Jazeera.

Tapi kemungkinannya memang ada kalau kati imbas penglibatan CIA semasa kejatuhan Sukarno dulu sapertimana di dedahkan oleh William Blum. Ingat juga tentang dua orang anggota tentera British yang ditangkap di Basra dalam berpakaian civilian di mana beberapa alat membuat bom dan senjata api di temui dalam kereta mereka.

Mungkin saudara juga saperti saya yang sukar mempercayai berita-berita pembunuhan, pengeboman berani mati, dsbnya kononnya di lakukan oleh orang Islam ke atas orang orang Islam lain yang melibatkan perempuan dan kanak-kanak.

Kematian rakyat Iraq sehingga 17.08.2009

"The Bush administration invaded Iraq in March 2003 with a force of approximately 130,000 troops. Top White House and Pentagon officials like Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz were convinced that, by August, those troops, welcomed with open arms by the oppressed Iraqis, would be drawn down to 30,000-40,000 and housed in newly built, permanent military bases largely away from the country's urban areas. This was to be part of what now is called a "strategic partnership" in the Middle East."

Agak pelik juga dalam menyebut peranan orang-orang kanan dalam pentadbiran George W Bush di Rumah Putih dan di Jabatan Pertahanan (Pentagon), nama Paul Wolfowitz yang disebut pada hal Wolfowitz sekadar memegang jawatan Timbalan Setiausaha Pertahanan di bawah Donald Rumsfeld. Ini kerana Wolfowitzlah dari golongan neoconservatives yang berpihak kuat kepada zionis Israel dalam pentadbiran Bush. Beliaulah orangnya yang begitu lantang bersuara dan bertindak menerusi AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) beriya-iya supaya Amerika menyerang Iraq dengan perbagai alasan tanpa bukti asalkan sesuatu yang boleh di terima oleh rakyat Amerika dalam keadaan trauma akibat insiden serangan keatas World Trade Center dan Pentagon pada 9-11-2001.

Dalam keterangannya kepada Majlis Keselamatan Negara selapas 9-11, beliau berkata "Why shouldn't we go against Iraq, not just al-Queda? (Iraq) was a little brittle, oppressive regime that might break easily - it was doable." Sebenarnya, tindakan menyerang Iraq adalah berasaskan kepada satu kertas penilaian doktrin yang ditulis oleh, antara lain, Wolfowitz sendiri untuk parti Likud Israel dibawah pimpinan Benyamin Nethanyahu yang kemudiannya di tukar tajuk kepada Project for the New American Century (PNAC) doktrin pentadbiran Bush.

Walaupun pada awalnya Amerika menafikan sebab menyerang Iraq bukan kerana minyak, empat bulan selepas serangan haram itu Wolfowitz memberitahu Kongres Amerika pada Mac 27, 2003, bahawa Amerika sebenarnya "dealing with a country that can really finance its own reconstruction, and relatively soon." He added that Iraq's oil revenues could "bring between $50 billion and $100 billion over the course of the next two or three years."

Amat jelas dari bukti-bukti yang nyata dan dari kenyataan beliau sendiri, Paul Wolfowitz adalah orang yang bertanggungjawab keatas serangan haram keatas sebuah negara berdaulat, Iraq, yang tidak berdosa yang turut mengakibatkan berjuta rakyatnya mati, cedera, didera dan kini hidup dalam serba kekurangan dan penderitaan semata-mata melaksanakan perancangan zionis Israel memalui proksinya USA.

Latah & Amok

Kalau diterjemahkan ke Bahasa Melayu, ungkapan di atas oleh Voltaire, seorang ahli falsafah Perancis yang terkenal ianya mungkin berbunyi saperti berikut:-

"Mereka yang boleh membuat anda percaya pada perkara karut boleh membuat anda lakukan kekejaman".

Saya terfikir akan ungkapan ini tatkala melihat telatah orang Melayu yang berdemo menentang Akta Keselamatan Dalam Negeri (ISA). Tak tahulah berapa banyak antara mereka ini yang keluarga atau kawan pernah atau sedang di tahan di bawah akta ini. Kalau melihat pada senarai yang terdapat di laman web Aliran, setakat 13.05.2009 seramai 17 orang di tahan, 10 disyaki ahli Jemaah Islamiah, 5 terlibat dengan pemalsuan dokumen. Dua orang adalah warga Indonesia.

Kecuali seorang berbangsa Cina, selainnya adalah orang Melayu Islam. Patutlah ramai Melayu dari bangsa lain yang berdemo. Saya tak percaya semua yang berdemo adalah ahli keluarga mereka yang ditahan tetapi mereka yang samada bersimpati dengan tahanan atau di buat cerita karut tentang kezaliman menahan orang tanpa bukti yang boleh didakwa di makkamah.

Tetapi saya tidak percaya orang Melayu yang berdemo menuntut supaya ISA dimasuhkan sebenarnya berdemo kerana tujuan itu walaupun penganjurnya memberi alasan itu. Saperti kata Voltaire, mereka telah dihasut dengan cerita-cerita karut yang bermacam-macam dan berterusan sehingga rekaan menjadi kebenaran. Saya ingin memetik seorang lagi yang kalau tidak 'famous' pun, pastinya 'infamous' iaitu Adolf Hitler. Katanya "Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they (the people) will believe it." Strategi ini telah digunakan dengan jayanya oleh mantan presiden Amerika Syarikat George W Bush untuk meraih sokongan rakyat Amerika menyerang Iraq. Beliau telah berbohong yang Iraq mempunyai senjata nuklear dan kaitan dengan al-Queda dalam peristiwa 9-11.

Ada dua sifat orang Melayu yang unik dan diterima pakai masyarakat dunia iaitu latah dan amok. Malahan perkataan amok atau 'amuck' telah menjadi perbendaharaan kata Inggeris.

Orang Melayu sekarang sering dicucuk supaya melatah sehingga sanggup baring depan kereta Anak Raja.

Adakah kita akan lihat pula orang Melayu mengamok?

Kalau anda fikir 'special relationship' hanya wujud antara USA dan Israel anda perlu fikir semula. Sebenarnya, special relationship ini juga wujud bukan saja antara USA dan Malaysia tetapi berbentuk segitiga, USA-Israel-Malaysia.

Panjang ceritanya. Untuk memahaminya dan supaya tiba ke arahtuju bukti kenyataan di atas, kita kena mula di sini.

Gambar yang di paparkan ialah Larry Franklin, bekas analis pengkhususan Iran, Syria dan pertubuhan Hasbollah di bawah pentadbiran George W Bush. Bosnya di Pentagon pada ketika itu ialah Douglas Feith dan Paul Wolfowitz, kedua-duanya Yahudi. Ingat nama dua-dua ni.

Pada Oktober 2005, Larry Franklin telah mengaku salah atas tuduhan menyampai rahsia sensitif kerajaan USA kepada dua orang kanan American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) sebuah pertubuhan lobi Yahudi di USA yang berhubungan rapat dengan parti Likud Israel. Franklin telah di kenakan 13 tahun penjara tetapi kemudiannya di kurangkan ke 100 hari khidmat sosial.

The Raw Story pada 29 Julai telah memetik wawancara akbar Washington Times dengan Franklin di mana Franklin mendedahkan beliau telah di soal oleh FBI mengenai semua orang Yahudi dalam pentadbiran Bush. Menurutnya lagi, tujuan sebenar FBI ialah untuk memerangkap Douglas Feith dan Paul Wolfowitz yang dipercayai mengintip untuk Israel.

10 Sins Of Democracy

This is a brief review which explains some of the destructive and dangerous effects resulting from plunging into the quagmire of democracy by which many people have been deceived due to putting on their hopes on it even though it is clearly against the methodology of Allah, just as what we are going to explain in this brief study, especially that there have been a lot of bitter experiences encountered by those people who have been deceived by this game and where its diversion and debauchery aspects were shown.

1. This system makes us forgetful towards the confrontation in behavior between the jahiliyah and Islam, between the haq dan batil, because the existence of either one of them allows the extinction of the other, it is not ever possible for the two to mix together. Anyone who thinks that through the general election, the jahilliyah fractions will submit all the institutions to Islam is mistaken as this is clearly in contrast to the rationality, nash and sunan (decision of Allah) which had taken place to the earlier ummahs.

"On account of their arrogance in the land and their plotting of Evil, but the plotting of Evil will hem in only the authors thereof. Now are they but looking for the way the ancients were dealt with? But no change wilt thou find in Allah's way (of dealing): no turning off wilt thou find in Allah's way (of dealing)" (Surat Faathir: 43)

2. The system of democracy will cause the decay in the values of true aqeedah which was believed and practiced by Rasulullah SAW and the noble Sahabahs. It will cause the spread of bid'ah, of not studying and teaching the true aqeedah to mankind because its teachings cause divisions amongst the party members. In fact, it could make someone to be excluded from the party that it can reduce the total number of votes and voters.

3. The system of democracy does not differentiate between the ‘alim and the jahil, between the mu’meen and the kafir, and between the male and the female, because they all have the same right to speak, without looking at the advantages from the shar'i point of view, whereas Allah Ta'ala says:

"...Say: "Are those equal, those who know and those who do not know? ..." (Surat Az-Zumar: 9)

And Allah Ta'ala says:

"Is then the man who believes no better than the man who is rebellious and wicked? Not equal are they" (Surat As-Sajdah: 18)

And Allah Ta'ala says: "Shall We then treat the People of Faith like the People of Sin? What is the matter with you? How judge ye?" (Surat Al-Qalam: 35-36)

4. This system causes divisions amongst the da’wah activists and Islamic jamaah, because a section of them plunge and move within this system (whether they want it or not) that would make them support and defend as well as endeavor to make a good name and in turn they would be against anyone who is opposed by this system, while at the same time they support as well as defend anyone who is supported and defended by this system. Therefore, in the end fatwas would be twisted without any certainty between those who allow and forbid, between those who praise and criticize.

5. Under the shade of democratic system the issue of wala' and bara' becomes unclear and vague and because of this there are people who embrace and are involved in this system trying to justify by stating that their discords with the socialist party, baathist party and other secular parties are only limited to discords in the subject of program only, not a discord in the subject of manhaj and that it is not much different from the discords that happen between the four madzhabs. And they conducted the bond of agreement and confederation so as not to takfeer each other and not to betray amongst themselves, due to that they say that let there be discords but don’t let it spoil the love and affection between us!!

6. This system aims at the establishment of an illusive confederation with the secular parties, as what is happening today.

7. It’s very dominant that for the people who move in the quagmire of democracy, their intention is flawed, as every party strives and aims to defend its party as well as (abusing) making the most of all available facilities and tools to assemble and influence the masses in its surroundings, especially the tools and mediums which have the religious tones such as talks, giving of advices, ta'lim, shadaqah and others.

8. Plunging into the quandary of democracy will also result in the impairment of the noble akhlaq values such as honesty, transparency, the fulfillment of promises and the prevention of lies, pretension and the breaking of promises.

9. Therefore, democracy would also generate a haughty character while belittling others, as well as being proud of each of their own view because what turns into the concern is the defending of it (the view). And Allah Ta'ala says:

"But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself" (Surat Al-Mukminun: 53)

10. If we pay a close attention and thorough analyzation, acknowledging and pledging to democracy means “stabbing” (blaspheming) the Prophets and their discourse (missions of Prophethood), because if al-haq (the truth) is to be deduced from the voice of the people’s majority there is no point for the Messengers to be sent and the books to be revealed, especially that it’s normal for the teachings brought by the Messengers to dispute the majority of the mankind who profess to the misguided aqeedah, deviate and have the jahilliyah traditions.

Screwed and Screwed Again.

Unless you are a masochist or you are into the thing of the people of S&G, getting constantly screwed is never a nice experience.

Consider the experiences of the people in KTM Berhad (formerly knows as KTM). Getting screwed or receiving the short end of the straw has become something normal and to be expected. A case in point was the famous (infamous) offer made by the government to dispose of the entity for 1 ringgit during the Mahathir/Daim era. This decision though made necessary to emphasize the worsening situation KTM was in then, it did not consider the demoralizing effect on the people in KTM and their families having to endure the brunt of the jokes and sarcasms within and outside the community.

Next came the short lived supposed takeover of KTM by the consortium under Renong known as Marak Unggul. How they came and what they did will forever be etched in the memory of those who came under their blitz. From the senior management to the menial worker none were spared. People were asked to leave unconditionally or so humiliated, some left on their own accord. Work rules and procedures were upheaved to bring about so-called efficiency. Critical maintenance of infrastructures and assets such as the tracks and rolling stocks were curtailed and essential spares ordered were cancelled. The list goes on and on. Again, it was the people in KTM and their families that were affected. Again, nobody gave a shit!

Every time our people got screwed they (the people doing the screwing) left a lot of shit behind (no pun intended). It was left to us to do the cleanup and it took a lot of effort to boost the morale of people that had been stamped on.

As was with the case of Renong/Marak Unggul, it took a railwayman himself to assume and resume the burden of putting things back to normalcy. First it was Dato' Salleh Abdullah and then was succeeded by Dato' Abdul Radzak, railwaymen both. Salleh in a way succeeded in tackling the shit caused by the cutbacks in maintenance but the shit was so great that he was overwhelmed. No thanks to the people who sat on the Board. When Radzak took over, he focused on the oft heralded important asset but seldom given the importance it deserves, the human asset, the people, the railwaymen.

Then, KTM got screwed again.

Radzak's two year contract was halved by the Ministry of Finance for no apparent reason whatsoever. It seems the Chairman (who resigned when Radzak was appointed but still harbored the post) and some members of the Board didn't like him. Screw the railwaymen and RUM (Railwayman Union of Malaya) and all those who came out in his support. Why the sudden interest to sit on the Board of KTMB? The Ooze of Piety - Peace Be Upon You?

After the obligatory I-am-honored-to-be-here yada yada, President Obama, speaking in Cairo, gave a peace greeting in Arabic: “Assalamu Aleikum.”

Perhaps, as these words were heard around the globe, a US drone was incinerating civilians in Pakistan or Afghanistan while a smart bomb, targeting a “terrorist safe house” in Iraq, melted children who were playing soccer.

During 55 minutes, the length of Obama’s speech, a hell of a lot of shocks and awes can be unleashed.

Certainly, in the amount of time required to call for a “new beginning between the United States and the Muslim world,” a detainee could contemplate suicide--could commit suicide.

And in the moments it took Obama to reference the Koran, quoting: “Be conscious of and speak always the truth,” a general could decide to lie about fratricide.

When the president said: “I am aware that some question or justify the events of 9/11, but let us be clear--al Qaeda killed nearly 3,000 people on that day,” I went back to the date, remembering the fear, the horror, and the weeks and months that followed, the demand for revenge and the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan. And I also remembered the deceitful plot, the Bush/Cheney disaster, to connect Iraq to al Qaeda. Yes, 3000 people died on September 11, 2001 and, now, almost eight years later, in two countries, 5000 coalition troops have lost their lives and in Iraq, alone, the country that Bush and Cheney were determined, prior to 9/11, to conquer, over a million civilians have died.

Expressing his knowledge of Islamic history and culture, Obama said it is his “responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.” And he lectured that:

The same principle must apply to Muslim perceptions of America. Just as Muslims do not fit a crude stereotype, America is not the crude stereotype of a self-interested empire.

During the minutes Obama spoke about 9/11, the rich fabric of Islam, and his denial that the USA is a “self-interested empire, people in countries affected by our very sophisticated weapons of imperialism are dying, their loved ones stricken with grief remaining with them as long as they live.

And as he sermonized about America’s respect for the “sovereignty of nations and the rule of law,” and referred to “extremists,” I thought of the egregious crimes of war, including torture, committed by Bush and Company, and, now, continued by Obama. In the time required for the president to expose the hypocrisy of this country, George Bush, a free criminal who may never be held accountable, could have walked around his exclusive Dallas neighborhood several times, carrying a plastic bag to pick up Barney’s shit.

At some point, Obama talked tension--between Israelis and Palestinians. “Palestinians must abandon violence,” he said. “Hamas must put an end to violence.” Nothing to Israel about their attempted genocide of the Palestinian people, using weapons made by the US.

And as he spoke, American-made violence continues its savage march in multiple countries.

In 55 minutes, an orator can give a passionate speech, using soaring rhetoric. I couldn’t finish reading it, though. The ooze of piety was giving me a headache.

But as I closed the page, I thought: Assalamu Aleikum. Peace be upon you. Please, peace.

Korea Selatan & Israel - Dua Keberanian yang Berbeda

Harijadi saya dan Mek Nab tahun ini pada 25hb Mei sungguh bermakna sekali.  Tak tahulah tentang Mek Nab tapi pada saya memang iya.  Pada hari itu Korea Utara (DPRK) berjaya menguji senjata nuklear mereka.  Di laporkan ujian itu adalah sebesar 10-20 megaton sama saperti bom-bom nuklear yang digugurkan oleh Amerika ke atas Hiroshima dan Nagasakai pada tahun 1945.

Selepas ujian nuklear itu, Korea Utara menguji pula beberapa peluru berpandu jarak dekat dan sederhana.

Mata dunia kini berpaling ke arah Korea Utara.  Ini membuat Israel tidak senang.  Pada Israel tumpuan dunia hendaklah sentiasa ke arah Iran dan ‘niat’ Iran untuk memperolehi senjata nuklear.  Untuk itu Israel telah mengadakan latiihan menghadapai peperangan yang terbesar di negara zionist itu.  Sementara itu, kenyataan tentang hasratnya untuk bertindak unilateral ke atas Iran walaupun tanpa bantuan atau sokongan Amerika di teruskan dan di perhebatkan.

Riaksi daripada Amerika dan kuncu-kuncunya yang di gelarkan sebagai komuniti dunia dan komuniti antarabangsa adalah sepertimana yang di duga.  Mereka tidak boleh terima Korea Utara bernuklear dan akan mengambil langkah-langkah ke arah ini.  Mereka juga akan mengenakan sekatan yang lebih berat ke atas Korean Utara.

Amerika memaksa negara hambanya Korea Selatan supaya bersetuju menaiki dan menahan mana-mana kapal Korea Utara yang di dakwa membawa muatan larangan.  Riaksi Korea Utara tidak di duga oleh mereka.  Korea Utara mengeluarkan kenyataan bahawa sebarang tindakan menaiki dan menahan kapal-kapalnya di anggap sebagai tindakan perang (act of war).  Selain itu, Korea Utara membatalkan Perjanjian Genjatan Senjata mengakhiri Perang Korea. Perang Korea sebenarnya tidak berakhir cuma di tangguh dan akan di teruskan semula.

Apa riaksi kebanyakan rakyat Korea Selatan terhadap ancaman Korea Utara ini? Tidak aneh kalau mereka menganggap ancaman itu biasa saja.  Tak ada pun sebarang histiria.

Amat berbeda dengan zionist Israel.

Satu bancian penduduk Yahudi Israel mengenai kemungkinan Iran mempunyai senjata nuklear mendapati 23% penduduknya akan meninggalkan negara itu.  Inilah keberanian sebenar rakyat zionist Israel.  Keberanian yang di tunjuk hanya keatas merekan yang tidak mempunyai senjata sesuai untuk melawan saperti rakyat Palestin dan Lebanon.  Itu pun perlu di kenakan berbagai sekatan dan penindasan untuk melemahkan mereka sabelum diserang.  Serangan pula di lakukan keatas mereka yang tidak mampu melawan saperti wanta dan anak-anak.

Dengan musuh yang berupaya melawan saperti Iran mereka nak cabut lari.

US dan Europe khususnya UK sangat risau dengan kemungkinan kedatangan pelarian baru hampir dua juta ini dari Israel dan itulah sebab utamanya Amarika dan sekutunya ingin mempastikan Iran tidak mempunyai senjata nuklear. Jumlah orang Yahudi yang sedia ada di negara-negara mereka sudah banyak menimbulkan pelbagai masaalah dan tambahan pelarian baru ini akan pasti membawa kepada masaalah yang lagi besar.

Pada malam 9hb Mei lalu, PERKAP teleh bermurah hati menjemput rakan-rakan daripada Persatuan Bekas Kakitangan Keretapi Tanah Melayu (Ex-Rail) ke Majlis Makan Malam sempena mengalu-alukan sahabat kita Pengarah Urusan KTMB yang telah di kurniakan darjah kebesaran Negeri Perak Darjah Datuk Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP) oleh Paduka Seri Sultan Perah, Sultan Azlan Shah.

Ahli-ahli Exco Ex-Rail yang hadir termasuk Haji Jabardin, Hj Ahmad Rahimi, Hj Ismail Harun dan saya.  Majlis telah di adakan di Hotel KL International.

Kami seluruh keluarga KTM mengucapkan tahniah kepada Dato' Abdul Radzak.

Allahyarham Tuan Hji Ahmad Joned & Zainal Abidin Ahmad

Pada tanggal 1hb Mei, kita keluarga Keretapi Tanah Melayu kehilangan dua orang sahabat iaitu Tuan Haji Ahmad Joned dan Zainal Abidin Ahmad.

Bagi keluarga Melayu di KTM, Tuan Haji Ahmad Joned memang tidak asing lagi sinonim dengan perjuangan Melayu dan maruah bangsa.  Allahyarham pernah menyandang jawatan Yang DiPertua PERKAP buat satu ketika yang amat lama.  Saya sempat melawat beliau semasa tenat di Hospital Universiti dalam keadaan tidak sedar dua hari sabelum Allahyarham kembali ke rahmatullah.

Allahyarham Zainal Abidin Ahmad (Bang Long) masih dalam perkhidmatan waktu meninggal.  Khabarnya, beliau meninggal dirumah keluarga di Sabak Bernam.  Kapt. Zainal Abidin Ahmad (Bersara) pernah satu masa dulu sepasukan dengan saya dalam Rejimen Pakar.  Beliau akan dikenang sebagai seorang yang peramah dan sentiasa bersenyum.

Semoga Allah SWT mencucuri rahmatNya keatas kedua-dua saudara kita ini, ameen.

Tentang Monyet & Pokok

Banyak orang termasuk YAB Dato’ Seri Najib menyifatkan apa yang berlaku di DUN Perak ‘memalukan’.

Mengapa pula perbuatan bergaduh dan menarik merampas kerusi Speaker amat memalukan? Rampas hak orang lain tak malu. Main sama isteri orang tak malu. Main buntut pun tak malu. Kurang ajar sama Raja tak malu. Demonstrasi sana sini lawan polis tak malu. Yang memalukan bergaduh di DUN? Orang-orang politik di Taiwan dan di Korea Selatan selalu bergaduh sampai bertumbuk dan campak kerusi di Parlimen. Tak pun depa rasa malu.

Mungkin malu kerana waktu tu semuanya pakai pakaian istiadat jadi semua nampak serupa saja. Macam monyet dan member-member se spisi susah nak kenal dan nak cam nak bezakan antara yang banyak sebab kalau tengok muka, semua sama.  Tengok bulu, pakaiannya seragam saja. Ahli-ahli yang berhormat kita pun tau depa tu macam monyet.  Yang ni depa sendiri yang kata.  Ada juga yang panggil antara sendiri sebagai babi.  Tapi kat Perak mungkin tak ada babi sebab semua babi dah ke Mexico dan sibuk menyebar virus pada orang Mexico dan negara-negara lain.

Yang memilih ahli-ahli dewan adalah rakyat yang bijak (sekuruang-kurangnya bijaknya datang waktu pilihanraya di suruh mengundi dengan bijak).  Dah tentu pemimpin yang di pilih mempunyai segala sifat, jiwa dan perwatakan orang yang memilih. Kalau monyet yang memilih monyet, jadi apa yang nak malu jika sifat monyet itu di bawa ke DUN? Monyet mana ada sifat pemalu. Kalau tak percaya pergi tengok sendiri gelagat depa, dikhalayak ramai pun tak segan silu, telanjang bogel dan kalau dah gian, ‘main’ pun tak peduli orang lain tonton.

Monyet memang suka tinggal kat hutan sebab ada banyak pokok. Di Ipoh sebab tak dapat masuk bangunan maka monyet-monyet pun berkumpul di bawah pokok untuk bersidang. Bila pokok di tebang dan hilang ‘natural habitat’ mereka, maka monyet-monyet pun berselerak di jalan mengganggu spisi manusia. Tempat pokok yang di pilih nak di jadikan tugu dan pasti satu hari nanti tugu/pokok itu akan jadi tempat ibadah sapertimana pokok-pokok yang lain sapertinya.  Tapi pokok di Ipoh ini agak unik sikit sebab orang Melayu/Islam dalam spisi yang sama pun beribadah di situ.

Over 100'000 barrels of crude Iraqi oil are being given away by the Kurds to American, Norwegian and British companies. That amounts to a revenue of 5 Million dollars a day.

The Federal government of Baghdad, because this is what Al-Jazeera called it today, the Baghdad government as oppposed to the Kurdish government has agreed but the only thing it disagrees with - the names of the companies. Ex-Rail - Application for Registration Submitted

Ex-Rail Pro-tem secretary Haji Jabar together with his sidekick Haji Rahmat have prepared all the necessary documents for registering the association. In fact, the application which was submitted earlier and rejected by the Registrar due to technical error, has been re-submitted. So we are now waiting for the official approval, insyaAllah.

Thanks to both Jabar and Rahmat.

Meantime, I met with KTMB's MD Sdr. Abdul Radzak recently during PERKAP's gathering which he officiated. As expected he gave full support towards forming the association and suggested that we laise with Haji Mokhti, Head of HR, on our needs.

Together with Dato' Mohd Zin, this matter was discussed in detail with Haji Mokhti the next day. We also discussed on the various collaboration and assistance that the association could assist KTMB.

First, what is a revolution?

Sometimes I’m inclined to believe that many of our people are using this word “revolution” loosely, without taking careful consideration what this word actually means, and what its historic characteristics are. When you study the historic nature of revolutions, the motive of a revolution, the objective of a revolution, and the result of a revolution, and the methods used in a revolution, you may change words. You may devise another program. You may change your goal and you may change your mind.

A revolution is bloody. Revolution is hostile. Revolution knows no compromise. Revolution overturns and destroys everything that gets in its way. And you, sitting around here like a knot on the wall, saying, “I’m going to love these folks no matter how much they hate me.”

No, you need a revolution.

Whoever heard of a revolution where they lock arms, as Reverend Cleage was pointing out beautifully, singing “We Shall Overcome”?

Just tell me.

You don’t do that in a revolution.

You don’t do any singing; you’re too busy swinging.

To understand this, you have to go back to what young brother here referred to as the house Negro and the field Negro — back during slavery.

There was two kinds of slaves.

There was the house Negro and the field Negro.

The house Negroes - they lived in the house with master, they dressed pretty good, they ate good ‘cause they ate his food — what he left.

They lived in the attic or the basement, but still they lived near the master; and they loved their master more than the master loved himself.

They would give their life to save the master’s house quicker than the master would.

The house Negro, if the master said, “We got a good house here,” the house Negro would say, “Yeah, we got a good house here.”

Whenever the master said “we,” he said “we.”

That’s how you can tell a house Negro.

If the master’s house caught on fire, the house Negro would fight harder to put the blaze out than the master would.

If the master got sick, the house Negro would say, “What’s the matter, boss, we sick?” We sick! He identified himself with his master more than his master identified with himself.

And if you came to the house Negro and said, “Let’s run away, let’s escape, let’s separate,” the house Negro would look at you and say, “Man, you crazy. What you mean, separate? Where is there a better house than this? Where can I wear better clothes than this? Where can I eat better food than this?”

That was that house Negro. In those days he was called a “house nigger.”

And that’s what we call him today, because we’ve still got some house niggers running around here.

This modern house Negro loves his master.

On that same plantation, there was the field Negro.

The field Negro — those were the masses. There were always more Negroes in the field than there was Negroes in the house. The Negro in the field caught hell.

He ate leftovers.

In the house they ate high up on the hog. The Negro in the field didn’t get nothing but what was left of the insides of the hog. They call ‘em “chitt’lin’” nowadays. In those days they called them what they were: guts. That’s what you were — a gut-eater. And some of you all still gut-eaters.

The field Negro was beaten from morning to night. He lived in a shack, in a hut; He wore old, castoff clothes.

He hated his master. I say he hated his master. He was intelligent.

That house Negro loved his master. But that field Negro — remember, they were in the majority, and they hated the master.

When the house caught on fire, he didn’t try and put it out; that field Negro prayed for a wind, for a breeze.

When the master got sick, the field Negro prayed that he’d die. If someone come to the field Negro and said, “Let’s separate, let’s run,” he didn’t say “Where we going?” He’d say, “Any place is better than here.”

You’ve got field Negroes in America today. I’m a field Negro. The masses are the field Negroes.

When they see this man’s house on fire, you don’t hear these little Negroes talking about “our government is in trouble.”

They say, “The government is in trouble.” Imagine a Negro: “Our government”!

Just as the slavemaster of that day used Tom, the house Negro, to keep the field Negroes in check, the same old slavemaster today has Negroes who are nothing but modern Uncle Toms, 20th century Uncle Toms, to keep you and me in check, keep us under control, keep us passive and peaceful and nonviolent.

That’s Tom making you nonviolent. It’s like when you go to the dentist, and the man’s going to take your tooth. You’re going to fight him when he starts pulling. So he squirts some stuff in your jaw called novocaine, to make you think they’re not doing anything to you. So you sit there and ‘cause you’ve got all of that novocaine in your jaw, you suffer peacefully. Blood running all down your jaw, and you don’t know what’s happening. ‘Cause someone has taught you to suffer — peacefully.

There’s nothing in our book, the Quran — you call it “Ko-ran” — that teaches us to suffer peacefully.

Our religion teaches us to be intelligent. Be peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone puts his hand on you, send him to the cemetery.

That’s a good religion. In fact, that’s that old-time religion.

That’s the one that Ma and Pa used to talk about: an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth, and a head for a head, and a life for a life: That’s a good religion.

And doesn’t nobody resent that kind of religion being taught but a wolf, who intends to make you his meal.

The slavemaster took Tom and dressed him well, and fed him well, and even gave him a little education — a little education; gave him a long coat and a top hat and made all the other slaves look up to him.

Then he used Tom to control them.

The same strategy that was used in those days is used today, by the same white man.

He takes a Negro, a so-called Negro, and make him prominent, build him up, publicize him, make him a celebrity.
