Walk Along The Tracks by L.A.Vincent

Top: The cover of Vincent's book "Walk Along The Tracks".
Bottom: Vincent (far right) with customers.

Finally, after a lot of frustration and disappointment Vincent's first brainchild made it to the shelf. The book originally titled Signal Right Line Clear was 'officially' launched June 16 last during KTMB's 125Year celebration held at Kuala Lumpur Old Station officiated by Y.A.B. TAN SRI DATO' HAJI MUHYIDDIN BIN MOHD. YASSIN, Deputy Prime Minister.

The book written in a story-telling style covers the author's experience and that of his earlier two generations railwaymen. It details his childhood and working experiences in the various departments of Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM).

It is recommended reading for all railwaymen especially the younger generation to understand what the pioneer railwaymen went through to make KTMB what it is today. It is full of well researched historical facts and anecdotes to keep the reader chuckling at times.

At RM 30.00 a copy, it's a cheap history book and well worth having in the house.

If only the ending is not so abrupt (sigh). Thick as it come I couldn't put it down and was disappointed when it ends.
